The Wellbeing Australia Network

Wellbeing Australia is a not-for-profit Network* of people and organizations committed to developing the healthy relationships that lead to individual and community wellbeing, especially in education. This means:

  • Values of care, respect, responsibility, understanding, inclusion and friendship;
  • Relationships based on consideration, compassion, collaboration and participation - not power and control;
  • Actively promoting social and emotional competencies for individuals, groups and school organizations;
  • School connectedness for more effective learning environments;
  • Developing resilience;
  • Putting positive and community psychology into practice;
  • Dealing respectfully with conflict, challenging situations and difficult behaviour, including restorative approaches;
  • Personal and professional integrity and ethical behaviour;
  • Developing leadership capacities to maximise participation for organisational wellbeing.

We aim to share information about what is happening in Australasia, link with other similar organisations here and around the world and encourage others to join us. We are a Partner in the Australian government's National Compact for social inclusion (click on the logo on the left to go to the National Compact site).

More on the Aims and Principles page.

The Wellbeing Australia Network is now across all states in Australia and New Zealand. Nearly 2000 people now receive our newsletters. These highlight events, stories, research and practices to promote wellbeing in our communities. We welcome your contributions. Share what you know with others.

Please join the Wellbeing Australia Network by clicking on Join **. This will cost you nothing but a few moments of your time. You will receive regular newsletters (about three a year) alerting you to what is new and upcoming.

Wellbeing Australia Network is a not-for-profit public company limited by guarantee registered with ASIC as ACN 154 529 834. Click on "About WBA" in the header of this page for more information.

** NB you will need to complete the signup for this site for your joining email to be sent to us: this checks that the email address you have given works (so check the spelling!), and reduces the number of spammers etc signing up. Also note that we delete some new users each day that sign up to sell handbags/shoes/whatever, and most of those have usernames that are semi-random collections of letters and numbers - so beware creating a username for yourself that looks like that, or you may be deleted by mistake!
