Social Inclusion Week is about encouraging communities to reconnect and be inclusive of all cultures, age groups, nationalities and the disadvantaged. Social Inclusion Week aims to help Australians feel valued and to give people the opportunity to participate fully in society. ENSEC publishes The International Journal of Emotional Education and has a biennial conference. Non-Europeans can be associate members for free - signup on their website here. Their latest newsletter includes a brief report from the 2011 conference, which was attended by several members of Wellbeing Australia.

The Australian Institute of Business Wellbeing at Wollongong University is hosting the 3rd Australian Positive Psychology & Wellbeing Conference on 22nd to 25th March 2012. The theme - 'Spotlight the Future' - will cover emerging research in four areas: health, organisations, policy and education. More detail can be viewed here.

MindMatters provides FREE professional development opportunities across NSW to help school communities and educators implement whole school interventions with the aim of making a difference to the mental health and wellbeing of young people. All the professional development that is provided in NSW is accredited with the NSW Institute of Teachers for the maintenance of accreditation at Professional Competence for all elements. Safe Schools: Bullying and Bystanders: Cybersafety

Friday 18 March 2011 is Australia's first National Day of Action Against Bullying and Violence which will be on the third Friday in March each year. The revised NSSF will be launched in Brisbane by the Federal Minister of Schools, Peter Garrett, on that day. The vision of the NSSF is that all Australian schools are safe, supportive and respectful teaching and learning communities that promote student wellbeing. All schools in Australia will receive two hard copies of the new Framework. A comprehensive online resource can be viewed at www.safeschools.deewr.gov.au

This Symposium will be held at the University of Sydney on Saturday 16th April 2011. There is a call for papers and the due date has been extended to 28th February. Please pass on to anyone you think might be interested in providing a short presentation on their work, either research conducted in this space or practical examples of applied positive psychology.
