About the Speaker
Heather Conn is Assistant Director of Psychosocial Policy at Safe Work Australia. Safe Work Australia is an Australian government statutory agency responsible for developing national policy to improve WHS and workers’ compensation arrangements across Australia.
Heather is a work health and safety policy specialist at Safe Work Australia, with a focus on psychosocial hazards and the WHS legal framework. She led Safe Work Australia’s development of the model WHS Regulations for psychosocial risks, working closely with jurisdictional, employer and employee representatives. These new model WHS Regulations were published in June 2022 and have now been implemented in most Australian jurisdictions. Safe Work Australia’s focus is now on supporting duty holders to understand and meet their WHS duties in relation to psychological health and safety, and embedding psychosocial hazards into all aspects of WHS risk management.
